
The City of Groton is still seeking a Baseball Day Coach for the 2025 season. The position entails leading practices for the U8, U10, and U12 baseball teams. Practice dates would land on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from approximately 9:00am to 12:15pm.

5/5/2025 UPDATE - LOCATION CHANGE
The City of Groton invites residents to attend our upcoming public meeting on May 6th, 2025, at 7pm to discuss the future wastewater project and funding package. This is a great opportunity for community members to ask questions, provide feedback, and learn more about the project's impact. Representatives from IMEG and NECOG will be in attendance as well.


4-1-11 Yard Waste Removal. The person, firm, corporation or business
responsible for disposal of yard waste shall not place or leave on any public
street, road, alley or sidewalk or other public ground in the City of Groton,
any yard waste which may obstruct the free use of said street, road, alley,
or sidewalk of public ground or which could obstruct storm water, gutters, or
inlands. For a first violation of this ordinance, a fine of $25 shall be
imposed; for a second violation a fine of $50 shall be imposed; for a third
violation a fine of $100 shall be imposed; for a fourth violation of this
ordinance a fine of up to $500 shall be imposed. The city finance office shall
notify the violator of any such violation and the amount of fine to be
imposed for that violation as described above, and if the violator remits
payment for that fine directly to the City Finance Office, no further action will
follow on that violation. If the violator refuses to remit payment for that
amount demanded within 30 days from the date of the written notice, the
case can then be prosecuted as a criminal offense.

Groton garbage routes are back to normal, effective immediately! Thank you for your cooperation in preserving our streets during spring thaw!

In observance of the Easter Holiday, City Hall, Wage Memorial Library and the City Shop will be closed on April 18th and April 21st.


Please make sure your sump pumps are discharged outside, not into the sanitary sewer. To prevent backups, all sump pumps must be properly directed outside.

Notice of Garbage Pickup- Effective the week of March 3rd
To help preserve our streets, Groton residents are asked to bring their garbage to the following locations until further notice:
Railroad Avenue, Main Street, Sixth Street, & Highway 37
Residents of the Broadway Mobile Home Park need to take their garbage to Highway 37.
Residents north of 13th Avenue (Olson and Jacobson Developments) need to bring their garbage to the Bus Barns.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated during the spring thaw.
Please bring your garbage bags and/or cans to these locations for Tuesday pickup!


On Monday, February 17th, the City Shop, City Hall, and Wage Memorial Library will be closed for President's Day.

THE ICE IS READY, and the skating rink plans to be open this weekend! The hours will be Saturday, December 21st from 10am to 7pm and Sunday, December 22nd from 1pm to 9pm.
